Well a lot of the manga villains were either originally meant to be good guys or stole something from good guys to get their powers. The generals were Endymions guardians, so why couldn't the quartet turn out to be Chibi Moon's senshi?

I like it just because I always loved the Quartet, and the idea of them continuing on makes me happy.

It's not that I don't like that they are Chibiusa's guardians. I hate that it came out of nowhere and had absolutely no foreshadowing. If there had been any hints or lead-ups to the reveal I would be fine with it.

*shrug* I didn't really see it that way, but the manga gets you pretty used to villains having different back stories and by the time the Stars events happen- there are about 5 bazillion different senshi.

It may not have been touched on enough, but there is A LOT in the manga that isn't touched on enough- like how many villains last for like, a page. Story pacing was not always Naoko's strong suit.

I don't get how this could come out of nowhere for you. All the elements were in play (people forgetting their identities and being reborn; moon royalty receiving their own court; chibiusa one day taking on sailor moon's role. Bad groups of people had been revealed to be good people, even good members of the royal court before!) It was supposed to be surprising but it was all there. That's one of the benefits of having such a long series, you can have twists like this without having to give away too many clues. The clues are part of the whole story.

What you said exactly - by that point in the story, there is precedent for it. And I'm going to add, it really wasn't an ass-pull if you recall your astronomy. Their names are Cerecere, Pallapapalla, Vesves, and Junjun. The four original asteroids, which were for a time considered planets, are Ceres, Pallas, Vesta, and Juno. All in all, not much of a leap. Also goes to show that it was planned from when the characters were created.

That all said, eh, I could take 'em or leave 'em.

Personally, I just hate that EVERYONE had to become a senshi eventually. Looking at the artbook is a joke.
