The sounds of the words are different. "Cock" and "dick" are blunter-sounding and more accessible, whereas "pussy" sounds demeaning and gross.

It's like how some people have a squick aversion to the word "moist".

You know, I will agree that "pussy" kind of makes me cringe. The thing is, I have no idea why. Why does it sound demeaning and gross? Do I have internalized misogyny, or am I just put off by it because I visualize cats?

But why does pussy sound demeaning and gross? Maybe some folks have an aversion to the word because it (as well as cunt) has such strong negative connotations in American English.

It's more than that... it's that the combination of sounds does not sound appealing in that context.

For me, it's the combination of the "u" and the "ss" that make it feel just kind of... slimy, and the "ee" sound at the end, just... augh. It sounds nasty. The word, not the meaning of the word, though honestly the meaning of the term is pretty nasty, too.

There are a lot better words to describe ladyparts, in my opinion.
