I use the same password for all of my RP journals, and I know that a few friends know that password...so...unless MAJOR crap goes down, it doesn't really phase me. XD

19. Not knowing the context of this I can't say for sure, but it sounds like everyone is misreading this. I didn't at all see "wouldn't want that kind of explicit detailing" to mean that explicit het was okay. It's just a part of speech that turned out to have unfortunate wording. Explicit detailing, of which yaoi/yuri (Read: PORN) is, was not something the author felt the community wanted. Particularly in saying right after-- as long as it doesn't become something that should be censored.

Of course this all rides on the assumption that the RP community isn't supporting pornographic het either, but as there's no way for me to check this *shrug* That's my take on it.

Oh, then sounds good. :D I'll keep an eye out for it once my download limit clears out a bit. ^^'

1. I'm very happy that you used that picture. It amuses me. XD

[identity profile] colortheory.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, and 4? I totally went onto the Fandom_Wank wiki so that I could read up on this chick. XD

[identity profile] dusk.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
3. Ew, has it really been that long ...? I remember going to a local party for the first movie, too.

4. lololol

11. Oh, I know the feeling. :(

18. Oh, man, I've met some people like that before. They make me angry. >(

At the risk of being leapt on, I'm thinking along the same track. But uuh maybe we're missing something?

IAWTC

15. I played that game, but I liked the MattMello part better than the main pairing. :\

[identity profile] friendshipbeam.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
2) Another "I liked it before it was popular and now I hate the fans"? These seem popular lately.
8) That sucks. X_x
9) Rabid pairing fans are everywhere. I wave a Konosetsu flag because it's canon and it's cute, but I don't want the show to be about them. It's fine as it is.
19) You're taking this as a prejudiced statement. Not knowing the RP or context, I might be wrong, but I believe it's actually a jargon debate. You see, the original definition of "yaoi" is "male/male PWP". It's been mutated enough that fangirls see it as a blanket statement for all things boy/boy. This is not true; the word you are looking for is "BL" or "Boys Love", which does mean any male/male story or RP, including yaoi. "Yuri" has had the opposite happen to it; the true definition is "anything girl/girl" and has been mutated to be seen as "female/female PWP". Your Hinata appears to need a jargon definition, but it seems, so do you.

19's poster;

And for the record, the comm had previously said No Yaoi/ Yuri what so ever and thus were running in circles in the thread that comment was posted on. Funny how it was deleted quite quickly after being caught on that fact.

The roleplay, for anyone curious, is [livejournal.com profile] summerfun_rp.

Regarding Ms. Scribe, have you read Charlotte Lennox's posts over at bad_penny?

I spent two nights reading her writeups on the Ms. Scribe Saga. It's compulsive, I tell you - just seeing that secret makes me want to go back and read it all over again. If you haven't seen her posts I'd say they were a must, but you will need to clear a good few hours in your schedule if you want to read the full story.

15. I loved that game. ;^;

19. LOL. I trolled at that comm for as long as I could. :P
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
Motha fuckas.

[identity profile] colortheory.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I just read the overview of each chapter. XD I'm not in the HP fandom so all of this is new to me...but...wow.

The wank seems pretty epic, if it can inspire a...dissertation like that.

[identity profile] samuraiter.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
To #3: Yup. The last three books were spaced out pretty widely.

To #5: He has that 'cool guest character' vibe, and I wish more had been done with him. That's why he's 'fic-friendly.

To #9: Me? I read for the 30+ other characters. Negima is a harem fan's dream come true, even if you're into robot girls, ghost girls, etc.

To #11: I feel like this one is directed at me. (If it isn't, that's okay, too.) If you're reading, poster, I totally understand. I live in the ass-end of nowhere, I'm too broke-ass to move, I don't drive (and would be too broke-ass to drive if I did), and almost all of my online friends (or potential love interests, as the case may be) are hundreds -- even thousands -- of miles away. It's ... depressing, especially considering that this particular city is (officially!) one of the worst for singles in the country.

To #13: Congrats on coming out. ^_^

To #15: Ooo, dating sim secret! Bonus points.

(It looks like Gundam Seed Destiny to me. Then again, most post-2000 anime do. I need new glasses.)

Lolol I agree with you.

(I borrowed it from a friend quite a while back, took some scans, marveled at the subtext, and then had to give it back. I've only read the first two volumes, but Rush... makes something of an impression. Is that scene from the manga itself or a doujinshi?)
karel: (baiken; pink)

[personal profile] karel 2007-06-14 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
(That was my first thought. Even though I've never watched Seed, the art style looks similar from what I've seen.)

Ah, Wikipedia, the true authority in all serious debate.

Oh, wait.

Okay, I'll put myself on the chopping block here for the sake of defending whichever community RP that is: his/her community, his/her rules. Sucks if people don't agree with it, but there's a really simple solution: Don't play in it. I'm sure it's not the first RP community that has banned yaoi/yuri, nor will it be the last. There are plenty of other communities that are completely gung-ho about homosexual relationships, and in turn, there are allowed to be communities that don't wish to have that dynamic as a part of their group. Much in the same way there are strictly het-players and strictly slash-players, it only makes sense that there are groups that reflect these preferences so no one should take it as a personal slight that they would exclude someone based on preference from a recreational group, especially when and if the canon gives no support to a same sex pairing. Of course I could be completely off base because I don't know which RP this is, but that's just my two cents.

I'm not in the HP fandom either, though I do have a weakness for Potterwank - it's just so awesomely delicious, and made even more so by the fact that I don't quite understand what all the fuss is about. I lurk over at F_W pretty frequently (no, I don't have a journalfen, woe) and I'm prone to turning to the wiki when there are no fresh lols to be had. Which, I guess, is where I found out about all this. The overview itself is awe-inspiring enough, but the full version is just... well, wow. And kind of sad too, in a way, partly because - well, damn, the time it must have taken. And I thought I needed a hobby.

Yes, the Ms. Scribe saga is epic. It's not just one wank but a whole load. It's like the Ring Cycle of wank (until the next one comes along). The tale of one woman and her sockpuppet army as she battles her way to BNF-dom and a seat at the right hand of Cassie Claire... I'd say the dissertation was entirely warranted, really. And, like the bad_penny reports on the Cassie Claire plagiarism wank, it is definitely worth reading if you have a spare evening or three.

Part of me almost hopes our secret poster succeeds in her(?) ambition to be the next Ms. Scribe, because then I'll get to read the write-up.

I love Enka. I don't see why you should be ashamed of it, it's just like every other type of ... music and stuff. :/ *shrug*
