I don't ship it because it feels like incest to me. They're bros, heterosexual lifemates, and tbh I feel like shipping them is completely ignoring that 1) both have been extremely attracted to women, 2) neither has shown any indication they are polyamorous. If they had shown them to be poly, one could see it as "they are together but also get with women" and were bisexual. If Shawn and Gus were together, then Shawn hooked up with his boyfriend's sister and tried to repeatedly, expressly without his consent, and that seems even more inappropriate than the massive amounts of inappropriate things Shawn has done. And they compete for women multiple times IIRC, which doesn't make sense if they're together.

TL;DR Shawn/Gus makes me uncomfortable, nothing to do with race, and I don't ship Shawn/Lassie or Shawn/Jules either (the first is OOC and the second is too "Rape is love" trope with the way he sexually harassed her for years). Gus and Lassi are actually my favorite characters on the show, I just don't see any canon ships for them (not counting Lassi/Chief's sister whose name I can't remember). And I cros-canon ship Lassi with Tim Gutterson from Justified, anyway.

Regarding Shawn/Juliet - I don't see the sexual harassment angle. Would you mind explaining?

Through the first three seasons he sexually harassed her almost every time they were in a scene together, pretty much at least once an episode. He was constantly remarking about her sexually, coming on to her, or touching her inappropriately, usually in front of her boss and coworkers. She usually grimaced, rolled her eyes, or otherwise showed she was uncomfortable. She never formally makes a complaint about it but most victims of sexual harassment don't, especially when everyone around seems to implicitly approve of it by not saying anything. Lassiter was the only one who ever showed disapproval, everyone else acted as if it was okay or charming.

Around early-mid s3 (I think? I just binged through the show in the last week or two, so what eps is in what season blends together for me) she was still showing discomfort with his come-ons but kinda started flirting back-ish and eventually developed a mutual crush- though even late in s4, she still outright says "ew" and looks uncomfortable when he talks about feeling her up. Hence "Rape is Love", though I guess it's really "sexual harassment is love", or "if you proposition a girl often enough, act jealous and possessive even though you're flirting with and seeing other people, she'll eventually come around". Shawn's behavior towards Juliet throughout the whole show was really really creepy to me.
