I put Shawn and Gus on par with Alan Shore/Denny Crane, and Spike/Angel.
They love each other...and I really don't see it as a brotherly love. Any girl that either of them dates feels forced and for the sake of showing they aren't gay...but the real chemistry is with the two of them. Which is odd since yes, Shawn is dating (or was) Jules in real life (I can't for the life of me recall their real names right this second).
I wish there was some quality fic for them, but alas...
