Read some Shakespeare? Half his plays involve crossdressing.

A Song of Ice and Fire series also has a crossdressing character.

Ah... Hm. I know more anime with gender-bending/crossdressing elements than books. You've apparently already read the Tamir trilogy, and that's always the best I can recommend. Hopefully others here can give you more rec's.

Seconding the Shakespeare.

I feel there's a YA book I read once where the main character cross-dressed. I can't remember the title, but when I searched for it, Amazon brought this up. http://www.amazon.com/Female-Crossdressing-Young-Adult-Literature/lm/R2ZS58V7F1FT6D

Thirding. Rosalind from A You Like It is brilliant and my probably my favourite Shakespeare female.

Oh! Just remembered this one:

Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett :D It's part of the Discworld series, but it's a stand-alone (as are most of the Discworld books).

Monstrous Regiment is like all my dreams from childhood come true (I was a big Mulan fan then). :D

There's also the book Eon by Alisson Goodman, and A Matter of Magic by Patricia C. Wrede has the heroine crossdressing in the first book. Both highly enjoyable fantasy reads.
Best of luck to Anon - I'll keep my eyes peeled when I work next and let anon know other great book recs.

Twelfth Night ftw :D One of my favourite works by him. The loosely adapted movie "She's the Man" was surprisingly good too.
