I've hated the movies. I still think most of them are really bad (except for the first one, I recently watched that and it's really cute). I threw stuff at the screen when I was younger during the third movie. The sixth movie was a disaster in so many ways (except Michael Gambon was brilliant as Dumbledore).

BUT.

BUT.

DH1? It was so freaking amazing. I don't know if it's because I hadn't read the books in so long, but I really enjoyed it. I thought it was great, and most people I've talked to agreed with me, it was a good movie. It's like they finally made a movie for the fans.

I still don't think anything will end after this movie. I've heard people say that for the past four (!?) years about different things, and it's never really over. Won't stop me from going all out and dress up and everything for the midnight premier though! :P

Really? I thought Michael Gambon sucked as Dumbledore. The whole time during HBP I was sitting there thinking "I never thought I'd look forward to Dumbledore's death before. But I'm sure looking forward to it now so I can stop watching him butcher the character."

Really. I thought he played him in a different way than in the other movies, and I thought it was really good.

Eh, I'd say roughly 99.3 percent of the fandom were in love with Richard Harris and probably thinks Gambon arranged his death so he could take over the role. At least that's the vibe I always get when the topic comes up, as an outsider to the fandom looking in.

That's *exactly* the feeling I get too. I never liked Harris, because I always found him a bit... slow. Which probably had it's reasons, but he was never Dumbledore to me. And then Gambon wasn't perfect either, because he was too aggressive. At least until HBP.

DH1 was made for the fans? Then why did it make me fall asleep in the theater? The last movie that actually kept me on the edge of my seat was Order of the Phoenix.

Probably because you didn't sleep enough the night before?
I thought it was good. They didn't add too much unnecessary things, and they kept the feeling from the book (like, the camping is boring in both movie and book) which I think have been a problm in the other films. I thought they seemed to have had the fans in mind a lot more with this than the other things (they didn't burn down the Burrow in this movie).

Really? I thought the first one was SO bad, mostly it felt like it was more of a clip reel and the Triumvirate couldn't act worth shit (although I still maintain that Radcliffe still sucks at it). Me and my sister refuse to buy the DVD of it still.

Although the HBP movies kinda pissed me off because they omitted Draco's reason why he helped out the Death Eaters invade Hogwarts (seriously, it was his redemption moment and they took that away?)

It is VERY possible that I like the first movie because of the nostalgia factor, but I do think it follows the book pretty well, and it has that magical feel to it. Although you do have a point too, and the acting is... yeah, let's not go there. X)

I barely remember that movie (I plan to watch it next week, need to catch up!), but that would be a really bad thing to skip actually. :S
