I do. And I sort of find it baffling the English is better known now. But I'd have the same complaint for an English-written piece being translated.

Because the French version bombed and NO ONE in France knows it. Or knows how to make good musicals anymore, for that matter.

Well, the English version is so heavily adapted that it hardly counts as a translation, and about a quarter of the material didn't even exist in the original French version... but yeah, OP could've picked a better example.
