As the fun killer, I have to ask: didn't these two movies take place in different time periods? Thus Flynn and Belle couldn't be brother and sister?

I thought that too, but iirc B&tB was set in the 18th century while Tangled is early 19th? She could be... his mother?

Beauty and the Beast looks like it takes place in the 1800's which is the 19th century and Tangled looks like it could have taken place in the 1300-1500s, so I don't get where you're getting the 19th century for it. So Belle could be a descendant of Flynn.

Hmmm tbh the clothes and hairstyles in Beauty and the Beast always struck me as late 18th century? Essentially the long hair that Gaston and LeFou are sporting went out of fashion in Napoleon's era, as far as I know. As for Tangled - granted, it is more generic fairytale land and harder to pinpoint, but the designers said they researched the style and era of Fragonard (so 18th century again) to create the look of the film, and some details like the uniforms of the guards (http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lf5v3jBJNg1qz5y5go1_500.jpg) look Napoleonic (http://media.photobucket.com/image/napoleon%20guards/kelly1863/Napoleonics/37c15358.jpg) to me, so that's where I got my early 19th century from. Granted it is a mashup of styles, given Gothel's much more medievalesque outfit at the other end of the spectrum, so in a way anything goes :)

Yeah, but Gothel's kept herself alive for an inordinately long time with magic. Her outfit being medievalesque could be an indicator that that's when she's originally from, couldn't it?
