Eh, well it wasn't just because she was crying but she was irrationally jealous of Hermione. I don't think jealously looks good on anyone.

Other than that I loved her because she was in Ravenclaw and she was adorable in the movies, but I can understand why people don't like her over-emotional outbursts in the books. I know it must have been tough for her to lose her previous boyfriend that way but she was all "I thought you would understand?" and "Oh you talk to your precious Hermione but not me" which, yeah, was annoying.

Because Harry, Ron, and Hermione were always rational and were never jealous, ever, right?

The double-standards fandom has are disgusting.

Oh, but they catch flak for that too. To varying degrees. Aren't Ron bashers rather fond of this excuse?

But the fact remains that they are allowed by the author and fandom to have those qualities, while anyone who isn't a Weasley or part of the trio is not and is thus a terrible and horrible person when those qualities are exhibited.

irrationally jealous of Hermione

I... really wouldn't call it irrational.

On top of all of Cho's feelings, mourning and confusion and what have you, her boyfriend spends a lot of time shut up with this other girl.

There's enough subtext with Harry and Hermione that continues to make certain flavours of Harmonian butthurt about the outcome of the books to this day. I can't at all blame Cho for wondering/getting jealous.
