OP, I'm sorry for your loss. It's not your fault. You tried. I'm sorry it didn't work. It doesn't make you responsible. And I'm sure your friend tried, too- it's not really her fault, either. When a person's in that much pain, sometimes, nothing can help. I'm sure you both did the best you could. It's not fair for all these people here to blame you, and it's not fair for them to blame her, either.

Think of her and let it go. You don't deserve to hurt any more than you already do, and I daresay you deserve to hurt much less.
