I'm really sorry you had to go through this. I responded further up the post, but I had a very similar thing happen to me, also with my stepdad. It's really a very fucked up situation to be in and you have my support and empathy. I just recently came to terms with it and it's been 9 years.

thank you. but you shouldn't worry about me. i'm going to be okay. i'm with someone whom i love very dearly and treats me with the utmost respect.

for the most part, i know he'll never get punished for it and i'll probably never get justice. but for the most part, i feel at peace with myself. i'm out of that situation.

I'm happy to hear that. I also found peace in someone who loves me and supports me wholeheartedly. We got married last year actually. <3

It can be tough in that situation (I also didn't get justice for mine) but I'm very relieved to hear that you're in a better place now. I think it was very brave of you to post in a public space, anon or not. I know from personal experience how tough it can be put yourself out there when it comes to something traumatic.

the way i see it is this: i'm still scared that i'm going to be ridiculed and be called a whore (like that anon above did) but honestly? they really don't know what the situation was like for me back then. only that monster and i know what happened - and in order for me to help others, i have to help myself.

Oh, don't worry about them. That person is a complete douche. I can't believe they'd have the nerve to say something so awful, but then again, it is the internet.

And I completely agree with you. There is a weird thing that happens to your brain when you're in a situation like that and no one can know it as you did, because they weren't the ones that experienced it. Thankfully a lot of people who responded seem overwhelmingly positive and aren't just coming on here to trash-talk about shit they clearly do not understand.

We both are strong and will persevere! May we both have many happy years with those who love us.

i'm just glad it's only one anon who's doing it though. but yeah, exactly. they asked a question and assumed that it was a "trollolol" and i felt insulted for the trivialization of what happened to me back then. but i'm very thankful for the ones who do understand and are really good people.

that we are! i always think that any other obstacle after what happened to us is just a little thing and we can overcome it easier than most people.
