Just because it's ~magic~ doesn't mean it's divorced from real-world context.

(Anonymous) 2011-07-17 09:11 am (UTC)(link)1) Ace isn't entirely comfortable with this change (and expressed it in other parts of the comic). However, Ace is also a werewolf, and is used to sudden and complete magical transformations -- in fact, he comments that being a girl isn't as bad in some ways, because at least he's not stuck with horrible furred wolf appendages.
2) I think what the author was trying (and failing) for is that Ace was a straight guy. When he was magic-swapped, he became a straight girl. Being 100% female is not what made him want boys; being 100% into the opposite sex is what makes him want boys now that he's a girl.
