Oh, what brilliant comments! I feel the same, OP. As a kid I just went with Gryffindor because it was the ~main house. As I got older, I wanted to be Ravenclaw, but didn't think I was smart enough, so I started thinking maybe I was a Hufflepuff. But in the end, Ravenclaw won out, and I think the above commenters make some good points - it's about where you want to be and where you think you'll be most comfortable. Ravenclaw pride!

(Sucks that our colors and mascot got all mucked up in the movies, though...)

Exactly about the colors. My friend made me a Ravenclaw scarf because I got pegged (and happily so) as being in that house, and it was in the proper colors. She was quite fierce about making sure it was the original colors.

I always wanted to be Ravenclaw. I'm such a book-and-research nerd. I want to learn things.
