I only ever got to play King's Quest VII, and I still get sad when my hear my older sister reminiscing with people about all the King's Quest games I never got to play.

The first three have been remade with a more modern graphics for a modern process, and the others are fairly easy to set up with an emulator. You should at least play the remakes (some of the older games haven't aged as well) and definitely play 6 - it's the best of the series by far. Though I've got a big warm spot in my heart for 7 as well.

I tracked down the collectors edition once the computers upgraded past V and VI, but I have never heard of this.

The remake of the first three is here (http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/games.html). Infamous Adventures also remade 3 here (http://www.infamous-adventures.com/kq3/index.php?page=downloads), but I'm not sure if they've made it any less punishingly difficult.

It still bugs me that the desert wanderer ghost is credited as "Desert Spirit" even though he says his name...but I can NEVER make out what it is when he says it. )8
