Oh, anon, I feel for you. Recently, I happened across a delicious index that included my fic -- a very long fic I worked hard on and am very proud of -- and the summary they gave for my fic was something like "degenerated into bad porn and mpreg" (well the bad porn part is subjective, but the mpreg part is rather inaccurate, for reasons too long to go into).

What really creeped me out was that this same delicious index was FILLED with other fics, all of which had scathing or dismissive summaries like mine. Why would anyone take the time to save and tags dozens of fics they think are mediocre or even bad? It absolutely boggled my mind.

So I guess what I'm trying to say into a rambling and TL;DR sort of way is, I've been where you are now OP, and yes, it burns like scalding water, and no, it shouldn't stop you from writing. I hate sounding like a "Oh, but if you stop writing fanfic, the terrorists will have won!" crazy person, but if you love writing fic, don't let anyone take that away from you.

There are douchenozzles out there. You were the unknowing victim of some of them. But at the end of the day, you still get to be a happy and creative fan, and they get to be douchenozzles.
