And the best worst thing is when your cadre of female buddies outvotes you on movie night and then after the chick flick has drug to its inevitable, predictable, illogical, and often faily conclusion, they ask you if you liked this one because, of course, the other gadjillion points of data mean nothing.
Which leads to the following:
"Don't ask the question if you don't want to answer."
"Come on, we really want to know!"
"No, you don't."
"Yeah, come on! It can't be that bad, this was a good one!"
*exposits on the plot holes, paint-by-numbers writing, and whatever fail was in the plot*
"But it's so sweet and they love each other! How can you not like it: they fell in love and" *proceeds to justify everything based on love*
... and then people wonder why I have so few female freinds who aren't also online fandom buddies.
