Okay, people seem to be reading this one in different ways, but the way I took it is "I feel uncomfortable around my friend because I'm afraid he'll think I'm fetishizing his sexuality/am worried that I actually am fetishizing his sexuality" or something to that effect. And if that's it, I kind of feel the same way.

I have a (male) friend who is bi (but he first came out as gay and then figured he liked girls too) and both of us are friends with another girl who is also a slasher. All three of us have read some of the same BL comics/fanfiction and whatnot. Anyway so I had a conversation with Guy Friend a while back where he told me he thinks Girl Friend is kinda creepy/fetishistic about her slashing, but he thinks I'm not. And that kinda drove my brain to a screeching halt, because I really am on the same page with Girl Friend about everything slash-related, I just avoid talking about it/bringing it up around Guy Friend and anyone else who isn't really into slash. And fwiw I don't think Girl Friend is creepy/fetishistic either; I just think she's kinda socially awkward and blabs about stuff when she's excited while I tend to keep my mouth shut on things. And while I'm 100% comfortable with Guy Friend most of the time and he's pretty much my best friend, I just really, really don't like having conversations about hot guys or anything gay-related, and I especially don't want to talk about slash with him, even though I had no problem with it in the past. I just feel like a gigantic douchebag/fetishizing fangirl if I even go near that stuff, and I don't know how to deal with it.

Anyway that was rather tl;dr and possibly not the same as the OP's conundrum but ugh it's been bothering me for a while now.
