I wish you didn't have to keep this a secret. As long as you're not being a jerk about it, you should be able to dislike or not care about any character you want. I will never understand fen who need everybody to like their favorite characters.

Exactly. There is a difference between bashing a character and disliking them. I'm not a big fan of Ron. I think the bashers are wrong because he is a good friend, but he just has character traits that really piss me off. But it doesn't seem okay to dislike Ron (or Ginny or Snape) in the fandom. And weirdly, I like Dumbledore, and for some reason liking Dumbledore doesn't seem to be allowed in the fandom.

Liking Dumbledore isn't allowed? But...but Dumbledore is awesome! Finding out he was a manipulative bastard just made him more awesome.

Dumbledore seems to be the least favorite character in the fandom. I've tried to post on discussions about him expressing love of the character and belief that he mostly made the best of bad situations and did the right thing. I actually got capslock responses from people expressing disgust that I could possibly like the character. Evil!Dumbledore seems to actually be the most common theory at the moment.

*baffled beyond all comprehension* Did...what...I don't...this makes me sad. I just can't grasp this. Holy shit did you really get capslocked over it? Hahaha, WTF? It's a fictional character. People who don't like him should just STFU and stay out of it. I don't like Sirius Black but I don't piss on his fangirls and fanboys cause I'm not an asshole. I'm sorry people were such dicks to you. I think it's okay to like Dumbledore. I think it's okay to like any character.
