I love all three of them, but I'm way more defensive of Percy, too. A lot of fandom ignores the twins' flaws while exaggerating Percy's, and it's super annoying.

I always found Percy to be the most respectable of the younger Weasley children. He never changed his tune. He always had the same dream and he didn't change it simply because of Harry's myriad personal troubles. I mean, yes, he was a bit of a douche and he cerainly was interested in rules and regulations no one else cared about but he took pride in working to make the world a better place.

The twins were always, imho, horribly immoral. They took joy in hurting people, however seemingly innocently, and in bending rules to their own ends. They left school because they couldn't deal with Umbridge to create a joke shop that would only further their mean-spirited pranks.

I'm protective of Percy also. I mean, I see nothing wrong with ambition myself. It's was also only when he got promoted and his family insisted he resign from the job because they were suspicious of his boss (and him) that he finally left the house and the family. And this was after years of enduring what appeared to be more tolerance/teasing than affection from his family.

Yeah, he was pompous and sometimes a jerk, but he wasn't worse than the rest of them really. All of the characters in HP had faults, and his were treated strangely out of proportion I thought. And when he came back he was totally willing to admit he was wrong and sincerely apologized for it.

I always thought of Percy as a version of what Hermione would have been if she's never had a Ron or a Harry to be friends with.

I can't see I ever liked him much, and I adore the twins, but I was glad he didn't die--in as much as he was sort of the 'bad' one up until that point, it would have been a really shitty message if it was like 'betray the family AND DIE.' That's some Sopranos shit or whatever.

I'm down with them all (but YOU CAN'T SEPARATE TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1! ;______; I don't think Percy SHOULD have died instead, but no lie, I'd have been willing to trade a LOT of characters for Fred if it were up to me. Not that it was.)

Percy is my favorite Weasley... and my favorite HP character overall. I liked his development and was super grateful he didn't die. Or just disappear never to be brought up again.

Seriously though, did Fred and George have separate personalities? I seem to recall Fred maybe being the "leader" of the two... I think he did more of the talking and George did more of the following. And then Fred died and George married Fred's girlfriend, making George a replacement Fred of sorts.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, hahaha. But maybe because George learned what it was like to feel alone, and he and Percy bonded somewhat in their older years. I LIKE TO THINK SO.

I thought none of them should have died. I guess I would have preferred Percy because I love Fred and George so damn much-- not that I don't love Percy-- my attachment to the twins is just... Anyways, I love Percy too- great character development-- but I digress! If Percy had died the message that would have sent would have been bad: "You fuck up with your family? You DIE!" Although, one could say he got a worse punishment, no? He re-joins the family, and the first person to welcome him back with open arms (literally, I think. Fred hugs him if I remember correctly) gets murdered (right in front of him, too, I think) and-- I can't imagine what that feels like.

I'm defensive of Percy mainly because I am convinced he is a good guy. Granted choosing the Ministry wasn't the best idea, but when he realized it he came back to his family. And it's hard to blame the guy for wanting to work there before, since it's the government, and it's kind of ingrained to trust them.

He wasn't always the nicest and he was strict, but those aren't necessarily bad. He was driven, and I've always respected that.

I always liked Percy as well, because he may be a 'good boy' to the outside world, in his own family he's a bit of a rebel, he's the different one. The Weasley's treatment of Percy makes me wonder how they'd react if one of the kids got Sorted into a different House. It probably wouldn't be as bad as Gryffindor Sirius in a family full of Slytherin Blacks, but I doubt any of them would be very nice to a Slytherin sibling. They'd probably look at a Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff a bit oddly too.

As for the twins, I liked them, but did notice they could be cruel at times. And I have to admit that I cried reading Fred's death scene, but more because it was well-written and the other characters' grief was so palpable and not because I cared that deeply about Fred.

I love all them Weasleys. Sure Percey was kind of a prick but I loved the part in the seventh book where he's back with his family, fighting for Hogwarts and then he says something about resigning his old job and I thought that was awesome.

The Weasleys are all awesome and I didn't want any of them to die.
