To me, non-con is fic about rape that's for people who have rape fantasies and is intended to arouse. Rapefic is fic about rape that is not intended to arouse and is instead about how horrific rape actually is. Whether or not you have issues with people who have rape fantasies, I think it's an important distinction to make.

i think that would be a useful way to make that distinction, but the labels aren't always used that way. i think they're most often used interchangeably.

plus, the line between those two types of fiction can be blurred. there's fic that is both arousing and disturbing. there's fic about rape that, like some rl situations, starts out very sexy and then suddenly gets uncomfortable and even terrifying. not to mention that people can be aroused by things which aren't meant to be arousing. so idk.

ideally, that's how the labels work. it's not always the case, but for the kink memes I've seen they do. then again... it's largely based on community attitudes and maturity, too
