Posting one or two fics a year. Almost never dare to comment on anything. Though I mich venture to do so at ficmemes, perhaps. The anonymity is kinda freeing. But English is my second language, so I always have to reread everything i write a thousand times, and I'm still afraid it'll sound weird. The britpickers (and ameripickers) scare me to death. Of course I set the spellcheck for whatever country is canon, but I have no way of knowing the nuances that everybody keep ranting about being wrong.

I wish I could go back to that, OP. I was so much happier in fandom when I was just lurking. Now that I've posted fic and art, it's made me feel unhappy and really signifigant as an artist. I almost wish I' never gotten into fandom at all.

Me too. Though I take part in icon challenges and regularly post my icons, I never take part in any discussions or comment on other peoples' posts.
Also english is my second language, too, so writing something is especially uncomfortable because I'm afraid of making mistakes.

I'm an artist and I'd like to share my art with fellow people in fandom but the few times I did I felt completelly rejected. I know it might have been the fault of the fandom (I was drawing unpopular ship)...but yeah I didn't get over my anxiety.
