I love slash fics...

but there's a lot of girls in my fandom(s) who are making themselves miserable, unable to connect with a guy b/c they're too busy slashing them with other guys. They want boyfriends, but they feel unworthy ofr undesirable because their slashgoggles have cut off blood flow to their brains or something.

I want them to be happy, but come on! Fandom =/= reality

It's not internalized misogyny if you yourself don't like being a woman. It's only misogyny if you hate *other* women.

I'm perfectly fine now but there were a few years in my slasher days where I really resented being a woman and wanted to be a guy. I didn't hate women or traditional femininity; I just weren't excited about it for myself.

I knew a ridiculous amount of girls who had that problem in high school. Fortunately, several of them realized that they were lesbians. Dunno what happened to the straight ones, though.
