F!S Anon Meme (the Fifth)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

(LJ's still lagging here and there, good luck.)

I agree that it could have been better.

Reading the book, I thought 'wow this is like MADE to be turned into an epic movie, all these scene would look amazing on screen'.

Except most of those scenes were dismissed or only briefly touched upon, like Molly Weasley kicking Bellatrix's ass. I'm glad they kept it in, but it really lasted 2 seconds. (...I also wanted to see more of McGonagall.)

Agree so hard on the Molly/Bellatrix scene- it sounded so much more badass in the book. Also, I don't feel like they gave any of the deaths the gravitas they deserved... it was more like they just tossed in a scene that said "Ok, here's who died- moving right along!"

Pretty much every duel (I really wanted to see those duels!) AND death in the final battle wasn't as cool as expected or portrayed in a satisfying way, I'm afraid.

Apparently I'm the odd one out here, but I thought the Molly/Bellatrix scene was better in the movie than in the book. The 'not my daughter, you bitch!' always read as really awkward to me in the books, but the way Julie Walters said it made it sound more natural and badass.

Of course, the movie was lacking in other ways for me, but I've never been super critical of the films.
