F!S Anon Meme (the Fifth)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

(LJ's still lagging here and there, good luck.)

I don't really get the Ivan love either, actually. Of course, I love the shit out of Nathan, and he's no more developed than Ivan or any of the more secondary heroes, really. I guess folks just see things they like in certain characters and run with it. :)

Also, the fandom seems pretty active to me (meme aside). There's several posts on the main comm every day!

Although, I should also point out that I've never been super-active in any of the major fandoms out there, so my perception might be a bit skewed?

Nathan has been a surprise for me. First I was like, oh hey there, heavily stereotyped character, but he's actually very cool (I think he has more lines than Ivan). Same goes for Sky High and his airhead-ness, Karina (her crush on Kotetsu is possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen) and Antonio and his recent hilarious sadness at being the unpopular one.

And Bunny and Kotetsu are continuously surprising and unpredictable in their quirks and personalities, I honestly watch to see them develop.

Maybe I want MOAR, because I'm sort of addicted lately. It could be that too. :)

I love the way Nathan came off as such a stereotype and first and then just sorta...became awesome. Sky High is so freaking adorable it KILLS ME, and...hell, I pretty much like all the characters on this show, really. Ivan might be at the bottom of my list, but I definitely don't dislike him! (And Karina's crush IS the cutest thing ever.)

And Kotetsu. I have not been so emotionally invested in a fictional character since forever. Like, I want to be friends with that man so much it's a little silly. The way he and Barnaby have progressed as characters and partners is amazing to me.

Although, if Kotetsu doesn't resolve the whole power issue by becoming Sternbild's Batman, I may flip tables. Ivan's power is hardly a crime fighting asset outside of undercover work, but he's apparently been doing pretty well for himself lately.

And I can DEFINITELY appreciate wanting MOAR. It's probably impossible to have too much awesome fannishness. ;)

His off-hand comment at Kotetsu, when he proposes to sleep together because K looks so down, is the time when I started seeing him with different eyes. It's also not a line you expect to appear so casually on a show.

Sky High is SO GOODMAN at heart I just want to squish him. Especially when he's hanging in dark alleys all aloooone, LOL. And I really wanted to hate Karina for her stupid costume, but turns out she's a great character.

ME TOO. And not being much into anime it has been a surprise! He just looks so fleshed out in every little detail. The fact that he's a single father already made me go AWWW on itself, the way he sticks to Bunny and Karina even when they are being impossible to him, and EVERYTHING about the last episodes make me LOVE him to an incredible degree.

I'm with you. It would be actually cool, because the original Batman was supposed to be Bunny. So, maybe they are taking each other places. :P I'm still sort of hoping his powers are evolving though. Tbh I'd like both paths.

I loved that scene with Nathan. I've been getting a sort of 'Team Mom' vibe from him, and I think that his proposition was more to make Kotetsu laugh or take his mind off things, rather than being made in all seriousness. Although if Kotetsu was on board, I doubt he'd have said no. ;)

Keith is just so sweet and lovable and kind of dense that I just want to cuddle him forever. He's just...good people. Karina was another character that grew on me (Her costume is totally ridiculous, but I doubt she gets much say in the matter), and by the time she developed her crush on Kotetsu, I was sold on her.

I love, love LOVE the fact that they went the older guy, single father route with Kotetsu. Anime tends towards cute young leads, and while that works just fine a lot of the time, I think Kotetsu's age and life experience makes him a lot more relatable than most. And he's just such an all around nice guy that it's impossible not to love him. Especially when he's trying to reconcile his responsibility to his daughter with his duties as a hero. So much love.

As much as I'm like, ARGH, GET SAITO TO MAKE YOU A BETTER SUIT AND BE BATMAN *tablefliptableflip* I'd be happy with either the power evolution theory, or even if he retires. As long as he was at peace with that decision, I think it could be a satisfying ending.
