I have never enjoyed anything Joss Whedon has created. S!B their respective fandoms would probably lynch me for saying anything bad about their God.

I'm a fan, and I completely agree with this statement. I love BtVS, AtS, and Firefly, but damn, Whedon's narcissism comes through in every single one of those shows (even Firefly which only had one season). I really hope he doesn't fuck up The Avengers, but considering it's a movie, maybe it'll be ok ...oh wait, forget that Serenity had the most pointless fucking death ever. So, hopefully the first part of the Avengers will make up for the probably wtf whedon ending

I love Buffy, but yeah, he totally self-sabotages. He came up with the fuckery of what happened in the comics, after all.

So far, the only thing by him I have enjoyed is Dr. Horrible, but I'm a sucker for a good musical.

Yeah, Dr. Horrible was totally hilarious but I couldn't get through a whole disc of Firefly, it annoyed me so badly.

I was friends with a lot of people heavily into Buffy fandom starting from the early days, a couple BNFs included, and there have always been plenty of fans who couldn't stand Whedon and who made a habit of mocking him relentlessly. Towards the end of the series, it seemed like there were just as many who hated him as loved him, but that could have been from a skewed POV, since I wasn't in fandom myself, I just watched the show.
