Did you watch the anime? That felt such like oldschool SPN that it was so refreshing and made me look side-eye at the rest of season 6. I love Cas as much as anyone, but... what has this show become?

No, I haven't seen the anime. Does it fall anywhere into the canon timeline or is it just its own thing? Also: subbed or dubbed?

SUBBED. Even if they didn't hire the most awkward random-dude-off-the-street to play Dean, Jared's S6 voice in S1 Sam's body is suuuper distracting.

It's retold S1 and S2 so far, and it focuses way more on the "special children" and Sam's powers and such in a way that makes me think that they might go the Sam-rescues-Dean-from-hell route that Kripke originally intended for the show.

[VAGUE NOT-REALLY-SPOILERS ABOUT VARIOUS EPISODES] There's an episode for all of the characters in AHBL P1, some interesting backstory for Meg, an awesome episode with John and young!Winchesters, and a typical anime junkyard-car-mecha, so if any of that sounds interesting to you... XD

Cool! It sounds great! I'll have to check it out. I heard that Jensen only did Dean for the anime's pilot episode. About Jared: yeah, it's freaky how much their voices changed over the course of the series.
