when i asked for help originally, i hadn't yet gone through to read the ff... it wasn't until i asked for betas, who pointed me to their work, that i started to read. (i like to write for myself first, before i read fanfic, that way i'm not influenced by what others have written.)

also i figured that people who offered to beta would at least have the basic skills to do so. any other fandom that i have written for there have been mostly amazing writers, so maybe my expectations were too high?
