I think it's funny in an ironic sense that people have turned words that may have once been insults to a group of people to mean something else completely different. They've changed the entire meaning of the word yet that group of people still get upset! I would be thankful. "derp" just means "oops, that was dumb." "lame" just means "yawn, that's boring." When they're used the meaning has nothing to do with disabled people at all! They're synonyms for other words and have their own definitions. People need to stop thinking the world revolves around them and realize that most people don't even give the person next to them a 2nd thought.
