I'm baffled by this film. A prequel that manages to miss the entire point of the original film. That's pretty impressive, even for Hollywood.

It isn't a prequel. It's a reboot.

lol and it just got some positive buzz today form the people who saw it in the pre-screenings

Whatevs, I'm there opening screening. Promises to be a great popcorn, summer flick.

I've always loved the franchise and I've heard good things about this movie. Plus, it's got Tom Felton in it, so I can't wait to see it.

I loved the original films, own the whole box set and everything... and I can't help but be kinda excited for this film. (James Franco. *swoon*) It really doesn't look that bad, better than the 2001 film at least.

I don't really want to see it because I can't get over the title- 'Rise OF THE planet OF THE apes', really? I know it's a lame reason but bleeehhh. They couldn't come up with anything better?

My only problem with this movie so far is the fact that the apes have no genitals.

I know this sounds weird. But it ALWAYS creeps me out when they do this to realistically looking CGI animals. It looks unnatural, like they cut off/cut out their own genitals.

Usually you don't mind if real animals in movies have genitals, so why do you remove them when you re-create an animal with your computer? Are people too ashamed of modeling them or what? XD

Never was a Planet of the Apes person, so by about 2/3 of the way through the trailer I was like completely sure it was some live-action tale of the rise of Mojojojo. Then I was sort of disappointed.

I don't care what people think/say about it, I'm looking forward to it as well ;D

My problem is that after watching the trailer I felt like I'd already seen everything important about the film.

That said, it didn't look bad. I probably won't pay theater prices to see it, but it looks like it could be fun.

I'm holding out for Another Earth.

I'm all for a good apocalypse movie where humans get the shit kicked out of them due to their own stupidity. I'll probably see it on cheapie day, but I'll see it.

Fuck the haters. I'm a fan of the original movie (not so much the franchise as a whole. Didn't really care for the sequels), and I'm still excited as hell to see this. It actually looks really good, and I honestly prefer this origin story to the time paradox from "Escape" and "Conquest".

And I hope they make sequels so I can see what else they want to do with the reboot.

I don't care too much for the originals, I just want to see genetically-altered or whatever apes taking over and decimating humanity.

Although, if I recall in the originals many types of primates were intelligent. Did they experiment on multiple species?

Can't wait to find out, ignoring holes because I just don't care. Angry primates running rampant in the streets!

I swear, the trailer for this felt like it was about half an hour long. It seemed to show everything important that happens in the first two acts, with a good chunk of action shots from the third - what's the point in seeing the film after that?

I guess I will go with Haters gonna Hate. I liked the old ones, I liked the new one way back when and I'm excited to see this one =D

I am looking forward to it.

One thing O find awesome is that the animals they based the CGI models off are from the zoo I live nearby (and my friend works there and was seeing if she could reconise any XD)

I think I just added to my excitement because I am also working at the New Zealand Premier as it will be screening at my workplace.

I can see why people of the original get annoyed but they have said from the start that this is a reboot not a prequel XD

IT'S PLANET OF THE APES! I don't care what form it comes in, I am excited.

I hope it turns out to be good. My expectations aren't that high though, but then again I'm only going to see it for James Franco and Tom Felton. :suddenly feels superficial:

The trailers for this film just left me confused.

I mean, there's a bunch of apes swarming over a bridge and everyone is like oh shiiiiii--- but come on people this is America. Some road rager on that bridge has a semi-auto in her glove box, and last time I checked ape skin isn't bullet proof. How do they take over the world with zero military technology?

When I saw the trailers for this, all I thought about was Spoony's take of John Travolta's character in "Battlefield Earth". "Puny man animals! While you were still learning how to SPELL YOUR NAME I was learning to conquer GALAXIES!"

Stupid humans with all your advance technology could not take on a swarm of smart apes with spears!

My boyfriend and I are looking forward to this film too. I haven't seen any of the other Planet of the Apes films.
