You know, I never saw anything that convinced me that Harry/Hermione was even likely before I dipped into the fandom after GoF. Hell, I never considered it once.

Although the Ron/Hermione hints were pretty blatant to me as early as CoS, I would be surprised if they didn't end up together and I didn't (and still don't really) ship them a bit.

But I hate that people think they so incompatible that they 'can't talk to each other'. The hell? They were FRIENDS for nearly 7 years.

But I agree with the whole Harry/Ginny thing. It's felt pretty damn forced. I was expecting it as early as Book 2 and hoping it wouldn't become canon because the whole "My BFF's sis is a easy ticket into his family for a FAMILY END" was so painfully cliched and boring. I would prefer Harry got together with Luna or some other girl than Ginny (or stay a lifelong bachelor).
