I think either or both at the same time are perfectly acceptable reactions. I think it's one thing to feel guilty about something you did at a young age, because even if you lacked maturity there are still consequences of actions, and another to feel guilty about something you imagined as a kid/teen, which hurt nobody and had no consequences.
