Actually had forgotten I made this. It was a ragey day.

Not a troll. Just tired of this show (which I DON'T watch on purpose but still know a good bit about because people won't stop talking about it) bleeding over into my other fandoms. Everywhere I turn there's a goddamn tardis.

Yeah, that's a VERY different complaint than the one you posted, and has nothing to do with the quality or "grown-up"ness of the show. That's just a thing that happens when you have a large, over-zealous fandom.

Yeah. One of of my exes withheld sexytiems because he wanted me to watch the show and force me to like it.

We broke up shortly after. That was...2006? It was the Season One boxset shaped like a TARDIS, anyway. I've just started getting into the show this year.

Well, you should certainly break up with someone that manipulative.

But then, you should also break up with someone with whom the sex sucks so bad that you won't watch one TV show to get it back. 'Cuz seriously...I would have watched that shit even if I hated it to end a sex ban. O_o

That's the way I felt. My mother got into it around 2007 and starting watching it obsessively. I couldn't go anywhere in my house without hearing the fucking theme song playing OVER and OVER and OVER at the beginning and end of every episode. I'm not joking when I say she probably re-watched 3 episodes a day when she worked, and marathoned them when she wasn't working. I was ready to put my foot through the TV if I heard that opening sting again. My sister and I conspired to break the DVD player.

Then I watched it. Now I have a playlist on my iPod with (so far) 10 versions of the theme music. I only watch it on the computer with headphones though, to cut down on my sister's pain.

Not liking it because it's not your thing != not liking it due to over-exposure.
