I didn't see the movie and I refuse to because of bad it looks, so what did happen at the end?

Basically everything ends all hunky dory and the girl who was harassed stays friends with her best friend, who was one of the people lying to her online and pretending to be a boy (who might I add the protagonist stupidly gave all of her personal information to despite the fact she had no proof whatsoever this "guy" existed). Further, everyone's basically all "Oh it's okay honey" too instead of calling her out on the fact she didn't block anyone or delete her account or anything. In my opinion the protagonist (besides being a complete dumbass) had more than her fair share of jerk moments in the movie, like this little gem here. It's pretty hard to sympathize with her after a while.

Everything in the movie exudes stupid and unrealistic. I should add that most people make fun of the attempted suicide scene, which pretty much speaks for itself here. It's just painful to watch and not for the reasons it should be. Horrible acting aside, the movie expects us to believe a sixteen year old girl can't open a childproof cap on a bottle of pills:

The childproof cap... XD Cuz seriously, no way on fucking earth.

I know, right? I honestly can't see why people CAN'T find that scene hilarious. The ridiculous level of DRAMA and shitty acting is laughable.

Cyber harassment is a serious issue. But this movie just reinforced the idea that everyone who complains about it is being overly sensitive or just stupid. It took the entire "movement" about three steps back. That's what pisses me off.

It's not the subject matter people find funny, OP (most of the people you do see doing that are probably trolls themselves). It's the fact this movie attempted to try to make cyber harassment look like a serious issue and failed on every level. It left me wondering if the writers ever used the internet before themselves or have kids that do. You know a movie sucks when you try to make a point about something being a big deal and only succeed in making everyone think it really is a bunch of people overreacting about nothing.

You're not alone in your opinion if you look in the comment sections of those posted videos. But most of the people who dislike this movie dislike it because it depicts the seriousness of bullying so poorly.

Oh wow. So glad I skipped it. Of course the tipping point was during the commercial for it, they showed a scene where the girl is pretty pointing at her laptop when her mom is in her room acting as if it's to blame for her being bullied.

And hard to feel sympathy for the girl when she blows off the insults that boy gets because "it's not the same thing." For real?

i haven't seen the movie besides these two clips just now, but it's not that unrealistic imo. I'm friends with a girl who's had clinical depression for some seven years now and every time she meets someone new online, she eventually gets annoyed at them for no reason and they argue until she's told to stfu and has to finally block them which... makes her condition worse. But she keeps doing it. She goes on sites to read about mean things and peoples' stupidity and how evil the world is, and it all makes her WORSE and has driven her to attempt suicide several times... but she never stops, no matter what anyone says.

also I'm 19 and still have trouble with childproof caps, especially if i'm already upset and everything's falling out of my grasp

What the fuck is that peppy pop music playing in the background? Why the hell is there an ambulance? What the fuck did I just watch?

The music is actually pretty fucking good and was used in the series final for Six Feet Under, so it just sort of got tarnished by such an awful film.

It's like the creators were making fun of the issue by narming this up so much. I think the music and the ambulance were what did it for me, though the terrible acting really didn't help.

It's like this Lifetime movie I saw about some kid with ALS that's pretty heartbreaking and all I guess, but when the dad finds out his son has the disease, he essentially rolls down the stairs in over-acted grief. I was laughing so hard at that scene (which sucked because we were watching the film in my biology class at the time, and it just made me look like a heartless bitch).
