People are turned on by horrible, awful, repulsive things. Human sexuality is often dark and gross and monstrous. Fiction is a way to explore that safely.

This is why I wish "kink" had never come to mean things like "h/c" and "prostitution AU" and stayed with "eating poop" and "snuff films." Kinks are often supposed to completely disgust the people who don't have them. Somewhere along the line we lost that most hallowed tradition.

I think the whole point of this argument is that any fictional kink is just that, a fictional kink, and not worthy of shaming or ridicule, and insisting that people who write underage fic are no more likely to have those real life desires than someone who writes scat fiction wants to be shit on in real life.
