I think a lot of the Kaede hate is actually people being worried that she's going to replace Kotetsu on the Tiger/Bunny team (and in Barnaby's heart, apparently, because somehow Barnaby is totally going to be into a 10-year-old and Kotetsu will be down with that... but then again, MUCH stranger things are happening as we speak in anime!), and misdirecting their fears into anger toward her. I mean, I agree that she's VERY frustrating because she's hurting Kotetsu... in the same way that Barnaby is often very frustrating, or Kotetsu is for shutting Barnaby out, etc. She doesn't deserve the hate :\

Are people really worried about that? Seriously? :/

I agree that she's VERY frustrating because she's hurting Kotetsu

I just don't understand this. Yes, she says things that hurts Kotetsu. But 1) she's a young girl on the brink of the infamous teenager years, while Kotetsu is a grown man, and 2) what Kotetsu is doing (and has been doing for years) hurts Kaede a lot more. She's lost her mother and she doesn't really have a relationship with her father because his job is more important to him than her. The only family she feels she can rely on are her grandmother and her uncle (the latter of whom may or may not be around a lot). How is this on the same level as her saying things that hurt Kotetsu?

Basically, I just don't get why fandom is so eager to coddle Kotetsu (a grown-up man!) to the point of taking up a grudge against a little girl who just wants her father to be with her.

I'm not saying people *should* have a grudge against a little-girl-character because she causes problems for a grown-man-character, I'm just saying that's *why* they do. As usual, people don't want to put themselves into someone else's shoes and also don't want to see that Kotetsu is the cause of the problems in the relationship with his daughter, and not vice versa.

Personally I worry about Kaede becoming a Wesley type character. I mean, her powers are so amazing and everything. I hate it when a knew young character shows up who can do everything better than everyone -_- But I'll continue watching the show and enjoying it, even if that does happen.
