I'm gonna say the opposite of almost everybody. Ultimate Spiderman was the only good book going, and I'm kinda wishing it ended with Peter's death. I'll give it a chance, but I'm not excited for this so much as filled with dread that it will be:

1. PoC clone of Peter ultimately.

2. Trying to hard to be different and becoming unlikable

3. Actually really good but dropped to bring peter back (ultimates was supposed to have all deaths actually stick when it started, but how many times have they gone back on that already?)

New previews show he has two parents. Hispanic mother black father. So unless they cloned him, made him black, and gave him to couple to raise: he's not a clone.

I don't mean literal clone obviously, but he shouldn't be peter with a different background either. He needs to be his own person, but not so different it's not a spiderman story anymore.

This. After One More Day in the universe 616 my interest in Amazing!Peter become less and less and with his incrementally dickish behavior I begin love more Ultimate!Peter.

With the horrible Ultimatum saga, Spider-Man was the only titular character still simphatic. His death (yes, the death of a hero, but still a meaningless death just for the sake of shock) should have been the end.

1. pretty much.
2. Yes, o worst, becoming poor Ben Reilly.
3. I don't think so, many X-Men dead still are dead, the same go for Daredevil and others.

They do it less, but they still do it and originally it was never going to happen. So Peter permanently dead is no longer a for sure thing.

LOL Beast, his false death was a dickish movement. And the Charles Xavier's death in the Apocalypse saga, and the Cyclops's death...

Still, since Ultimatum pretty much every guy dead is still dead :/

No, my comment was that I fear the storyline will be handled poorly, taking a book that could have ended on a very powerful note and possibly ruining it in the future by making him too much like Peter Parker or too different to be likable, or conversely, being very good but re-replacing the character.

Seriously, did you read our comments at all? This is just laughably stupid.

This is kind of funny, causa Miles have in common with me his background latino (I'm Chilean.)

So you take for granted that I'm white and that my discomfort is for the race of the new character when I'm explained my motives: the plot and the Peter's death.
