Seriously, how the hell do people think it's okay to make a bazillion accounts for themselves?

The site didn't make it difficult to do so, so who's to say they can't? If they really didn't want people doing it, they would have worked something out.

The first day you didn't get to choose your nick. It was randomly given to you. I imagine there were a lot of multiple accounts made that day by people trying to get a name they liked. Pottermore smartened up and let people choose from 4 randomly selected names on later days, but that didn't stop people who didn't like those either.

Then again, if they didn't like it then they shouldn't have validated the email.

I actually made 2 accounts. One is for me, and the other one is for my sister who was at work at the time. I don't think JKR would hate me too much for that.

Yeah, I made three, kept one, and gave the other two to my sisters.

I don't fault anyone for registering more than one account if it was for someone else. I considered registering a second account for a friend myself, but she wound up getting her account on the same night I did anyway.

There were plenty of people who did it for "a friend" or "my sister" but lets be real most people have at LEAST two for themselves alone.

I do lol a bit at the people who give away accounts randomly, because it doesn't seem as though you can change the name attached to the account (yet?), just the email. So sure they'll have their own account, but it'll be personalized for someone else.

I made extra for my sister and parents, but I don't think my parents actually care that much... I feel a little bad about taking extra space. I've already given one of them to a friend of a friend, might do the same with the others.

I don't why you would need a second account. I mean, I completed the quill challenge every chance I had, but i only registered once, becuase I'm not a selfish douche, like you. It's people like you who are the reason it's going to take longer for everyone else to get their "welcome" e-mail, so yeah, FUCK YOU.

Way to take someone else's spot. At least you didn't make 10 to "give away" or to shamelessly get more followers/friends.

Also, for people who made them for other people and ended up giving them away. I call bullshit. The accounts are in the system until you validate the email. An email that could take up to 24 hours to receive. You also had 48 hours before the validation on the link expired. More than enough time to call up someone and ask if they wanted it and if they didn't, then don't validate and the name goes back into the system for someone else who does. The only exception is if it was the last day, but by then you would've had a week to ask and get info.

I also made two accounts, but only because I had to. After making my first one, I waited for the e-mail, but after 2 days, there was nothing in my inbox (to this day, I haven't received anything for the first account). There was also nothing in the FAQ about the probability of someone not receiving the mail. All it said was: "Check if you've submitted the right e-mail and check your spam inbox".

So on the following day, I waited for the clue and made another account. This time I got the e-mail and was able to validate the account.

Sure, it's against the ToS, but then again, maybe they should make sure that the servers are working properly (they MUST have known that millions of people would be trying to access the site and get the early accounts) and that e-mails are being sent off.
