op you might like the song "i'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you" since it seems to be from the point of view of a girl who likes another girl but the singer is male :)

personally when i'm listening to music and thinking about my otps i am happy to ignore it when they say "girl" or "boy" lol. all that really matters is the overall meaning of the song. gender's not really important.

I can usually ignore it and even try to swap in the different gender. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (usually when it's meant to rhyme.)

lol I'm exactly the same. I'm kind of surprised how many people are put off by pronouns. I don't even pay attention to them, but I also put less importance on pronouns IRL, too. I call people boy/girlfriend regardless of their sex or gender, so it's like "lol whatever, so the songwriter said girl, I'm still pretending it's singing about a boy. :D"
