IASFM OP. Trevor redeemed Todd and made him this incredibly likeable guy. The minute Todd was "executed" he became my favorite character and Trevor will always be my Todd.

I haven't watched OLTL in a few years, but I HATED RH's Todd and I always loved TSJ's version, he brought a softer side to the character that was wonderful.

I haven't watched OLTL in forever...but how would they do this? Didn't they actually take the time to acknowledge that nu!Todd did not look like old!Todd due to plastic surgery to alter his identity? What, has it been reversed now?

After OLTL got the news they were being cancelled (before Prospect Park picked them up for the web series version) they brought back Roger Howarth and let Trevor St. James go. I'm not sure when he's leaving the show but it will before the show is off the air in January 2012. Right now they have RH Todd and TSJ Todd both claiming to be the one and only Todd Manning. DNA testing says they both have Todd's dna which is pretty wtf but with OLTL letting TSJ go before the show is over... well, obviously they're choosing RH's version which irks me to no end.

Mostly because RH made some pretty public statements back in the day about how he hated how popular Todd became as a character and basically intoned he disliked playing the character and saw very little redeeming features in him. Which, why come back to the show after it's been cancelled and displace the guy who has been successfully playing Todd for 8 years? It sucks.

Wow. That makes absolutely no sense. Twin DNA? Wtf? At least that gives Blair the perfect opportunity to ~question her life choices and angst. (It's like Spencer Truman all over again! Her life was a lie!)

What's supposed to happen when RH turns out to be the real Todd? (I agree, it is inevitable) Is TSJ!Todd supposed to fade away to obscurity, leaving behind the people he's cared so deeply for these past eight years?

At least if Blair ends up with RH!Todd, TSJ!Todd can get with Evangeline when she magically reawakens from her coma. And yes, I'm aware how bitter that sounds.

TSJ's last tape date was late July so he should last air in September or so. =/ So pointless, tbh. I don't really mind RH but this whole storyline is a mess-- TSJ!Todd has the same memories as RH!Todd so some are speculating he was brainwashed but this week they revealed that Eileen Manning is alive and behind whatever's going on with this storyline, and whether or not they're twins or not. Meh.

I haven't watched the show in a while, but I *think* it's something along the lines of "surprise! TSJ!Todd isn't really Todd! He's an imposter and now RH!Todd is back and he's the real Todd!" Or something. I'm actually really eager to check out this storyline but I keep forgetting to watch.

Original Todd is what the character was MEANT to be. He was supposed to be a horrific nearly-irredeemable sociopath and serial rapist, and Roger Howarth played him, AND the redemption story that followed after he got his scar really well. I resented fairytale!inheritance Todd for YEARS because he went all soft and cheesy.

TSJ will never have the on-screen father-daughter chemistry Roger Howarth and Kristen Alderson. Starr's birth and Todd's connection to her in particular are what cemented Todd Manning into my top five Soap Opera characters of all time and I am GLAD he is reclaiming his nearly ruined role from that bozo.

Oh wait. It's not. Complete fail. Old Todd was creepy. He's supposed to be creepy. That was his character. You're not supposed to root for him, you're supposed to hate him. I haven't watched since the 90s, but I'm glad they're going to end on a correct note at least.

Bringing back RH as Todd is an insult to TSJ? Really? I really like where they're going with this storyline, because TSJ hasn't felt like Todd to me in a long while. He's a complete bastard, with no regrets on what he's done and I think it would make sense that he's not really Todd, but someone who thinks he is. And plus I'm a sucker for original Todd and Starr's relationship :)

Jack is Todd 2.0 to TSJTodd's Peter Manning 2.0. Jack is the abused son who takes his aggression out on others. He's on his way to becoming Todd and that's something the real Todd would noy want. Jack is one step away from being angry enough to plan a gang-rape. Why shouldn't he? His formative role model re-rapes his victim and then mocks her! AND THEN HE'S STILL WRITTEN AS THE MALE ROMANTIC LEAD!!!!

I'll take the guy who didn't cause his pregnant daughter to fall down a stairs and then barely showed remorse afterwards. I'll take the guy that didn't plan on stealing his daughter's baby and raising it with his rape victim. I'll take the real Todd which is and always has been Roger's Todd.

TSJ did a good job till he got bored but he also made the bad writing worse w/his acting choices. Air-quoting rape when talking to your rape victim makes you a fucking jackass.

Playing your scenes with your daughters like you are sexually possessive of them is not Todd. THAT is not the Todd that was so afraid of looking at baby!Starr because he was terrified of the fact that his father was a child molester and he never, ever, ever wanted to become that. TSJ said in an interview that his Todd was sexually attracted to his daughters. That is what TSJ reduced Todd to.

TSJ destroyed Todd and in a day, RH revived my interest in a show that I haven't watched in a decade. TSJ played Todd with all of Todd's sociopathy but little of his vulnerabilities/self-loathing. TSJTodd in the past few years at least lacked his humanity towards even members of his family. He does not loathe himself for the rape. If he did, he NEVER would have re-raped Marty. He never would have mocked that to her face by airquoting rape. Also, the real Todd had two lines he would never cross: hurt Starr and re-rape Marty. Guess who did both.

Also, TnT has always sucked. I'm not a TnB fangirl but I'm a Todd fan and Tea, of the sexual guilt-trips & obsession with sex, was a laughable joke for a man who was sexually triggered due to his past as a rapist. He wouldn't have sex with her and he was disgusted when she begged for it! He had sex with Tea once, then thought of his wedding night with Blair, and built a raft to get back to Blair.He left Tea stranded on that island.

TSJ's TnT are so dom-sub and RHTodd would be so genuinely freaked by that b/c the real Todd would be freaked by that. Todd is sexually repressed b/c of his past as a rapist. TSJTodd played Todd with none of those hangups (and plenty of kinks) and that made no sense for the character. He just was not Todd.

Tea can have TSJ's Todd. I am okay with that. I never realized how much issues I've had with TSJ's Todd. The sad thing is, he was a good actor in the beginning. Around 2006-ish, his acting choices became bizarro. His behavior towards Viki, Starr, Blair was so detached, dismissive, and rude. His behavior with Jack was painfully, almost trigger-y abusive. ALL he cared about was Tea and his shiny toy Dani. That's not Todd.

TSJ was playing another character this whole time and I'm glad to be vindicated with the show making TSJ's Todd Victor. Because yes, from 2008 at least, this guy was not Todd. He never met a line he wouldn't cross with glee, narcissism, and air-quotes.

Also, RH would have walked before playing house with his rape victim. That's one of the reasons why he left. RH was a diva but I respected the hell out of him for refusing to play the rapist/rape victim as a love story. He always said that Todd was a tortured soul and not a romantic lead. Todd is not a romantic lead. He is a tortured gang-rapist and he's not a dude that should be having rough sex with women. EW.

As a tribute to TSJ's acting choices, I'm going to crib this from TwoP where the posters have taste:
