He was supposed to be a horrific nearly-irredeemable sociopath and serial rapist, and Roger Howarth played him, AND the redemption story that followed after he got his scar really well. I resented fairytale!inheritance Todd for YEARS because he went all soft and cheesy.
TSJ will never have the on-screen father-daughter chemistry Roger Howarth and Kristen Alderson. Starr's birth and Todd's connection to her in particular are what cemented Todd Manning into my top five Soap Opera characters of all time and I am GLAD he is reclaiming his nearly ruined role from that bozo.
