it's sadly realistic of how death during a war is. it hurts, it's horrible, and you don't always have the time to grieve properly

That was my exact thought to Remus and Tonks in the books (and them plus Fred in the movies).

Sadly i don't think the director was going for "death is a quick and horrible thing that doesn't always allow for time to grieve properly".

It just came across as shitty directing tbh.

i dunno. the way Harry was walking through, seeing all of this and looking so numb... looked about right to me. the situation was chaotic and terrifying and he was blaming himself. i thought that came across just fine.

Except movie!Harry showed 100x more emotion when Cedric died and he barely talked to the guy. He didn't even seem all that concerned if everyone else was accounted for.

This. I'm pretty positive that this is what they were going for. IMO, it was handled extremely well. I liked the fact that the deaths were so brief. We didn't have time to dwell on them or think about them, and to me, that really pulled us in with all the people in the Great Hall, who were going through the same thing. There was a war on. Nobody had time to dwell on it.
