I'll be honest with you OP, if I had any choice in the matter, I wouldn't touch Brazil with a ten-foot pole. :P

For what it's worth the parts of Rio that are over hyped are pleasant enough... just know that there is also very unpleasant stuff that you definitely won't have to look too hard to find.

Reconhecendo brasileiro de longe, rsrsrsrs. Eu gosto do Rio, é uma cidade bonita, apesar dos problemas. O filme romantizou, é claro, mas capturou o espírito e não escondeu a miséria.
