i've never been a huge fan of Bobby's, and yeah it's probably because of that. nowadays i rarely see a new show unless there's some people i can slash or some sort of bromance.

First, Bobby is a fine piece of ass.

Second he gets all sorts of play. Bobby/Crowley is the main ship he's used in. There's also Bobby/Rufus, Bobby/John, Bobby/Ellen (fuck yeah!), Bobby/Sheriff Mills.

Finally, I can't speak for anyone else, but if they ever kill off Booby I will be fucking PISSED! Love me some Booby.

Speaking as a non-slash fan, I have to say that I disagree. I'm not saying I don't love Bobby. I love the shit out of him, actually. 'Weekend at Bobby's' was the best episode of season six for me.

However, character is about evolution. It's about watching them grow and change, in both good and bad ways. Castiel has been around for three years and is arguably unrecognizable from that militant drone we met in Lazarus Rising. Bobby, on the other hand, is still that same guy we met six years ago. In that time he has established a clear role in Sam and Dean's lives and has gone through some things but essentially he's still the same guy we met six years ago.

So even though I adore Bobby, I do believe that he is more expendable than Castiel because his role is not necessary. Welcome, but definitely not necessary.

Bobby is love. He's actually had more screentime than Cas (or any other character apart from the boys.) He also cleans up very distinguished, which I feel is a very undervalued trait.

I'm not sure I'd be that interested in shipping him, though I could definitely see expanding on the Ellen thing, but I'd be very upset if he was killed. He's as much a part of Team Free Will as the others, and it's too bad he doesn't get more attention.

Well, I for one love both Cas and Bobby, though I'm not attracted to Bobby. Personally, I think the show is always better when there are characters that can act as foils for Sam and Dean and their relationship. Earlier seasons had more recurring characters that have now mostly been killed off.

Are you kidding? I'm one of the Cas fans worried about how they'll be handling his character in S7 (though, granted, not very vocal about it; I prefer to worry in silence), and if anything happened to Bobby I'd blow a gasket! For a while I worried they'd kill him off in 6x22, and the utter rage and disappointment at the thought were huge.

So really. Don't generalize.

I get sick to my stomach as the end of each season approaches terrified that they'll kill off Bobby. He is my favorite character and I don't EVER want them to kill him off.

At this point, I'm kind of hoping they DO kill Cas off, just because I'm sick of his obnoxious fans.

I'd be distraught if Bobby was killed off [well permanently at least, I just about threw up when his neck was snapped at the end of season 5] and I love him so much. He's probably my second fave character after Dean. But I do agree that there seems to be a lack of Bobby love :( And yes, a lot of people probably don't love him as much because he's not slashable as you say, OP.

Ftr I think Jim is definitely attractive, I just know I'm probably in the minority there.
