I always liked CoS, probably because there were so many bits of it that actually creeped me the hell out. And I recently rewatched the movie, and found it surprisingly enjoyable.

That said, Dobby warning Harry to stay out of school still makes no fucking sense to me unless Dobby can SEE THE FUTURE.

I thought that Dobby overheard Lucius making the plan to plant Riddle's diary at the school?

But see, if that was true, wouldn't he have heard that the plan was to get rid of muggleborn students, which Harry is not one of? Riddle himself says he switched his plan to targeting Harry during the school year.

I thought Lucius planted the diary out of spite against the Weasleys? His original plan was plant it so that the Chamber of Secrets would be opened, muggle borns would die, etc etc (as per Voldemort's orders), but ended up turning it into a petty pissing match between him and Mr Weasley.
