What sets my teeth on edge is that I'm pretty sure the writers will go into the next season completely ignoring all this. I bet Cas' motives won't ever be brought up in the whirlwind of blames the boys will pile on him. He will be the evil son of a bitch who swallowed all the souls because he was power hungry and a villain at the core.

It almost cracked me up when Dean said in the finale, "I'd have died for you. Almost did a few times." Yelled at my TV "When? When, you lying sonovabitch?"

I'm a Dean fan BTW.

Gah, everyone is explaining it so much better than I am. This is exactly the reason why I didn't like him going darkside is because I know this is going to happen. They always pride themselves on how "grey" their characters morals are, but yet it almost always turns into a black-and-white thing because only Dean and Sam are allowed to make mistakes.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of.

Cas had reasons for what he did with the souls in purgatory, and I will be pissed off majoroly if the writers just paint him as irredemably evil.

I'm also a Dean fan but that whole "I've died for you" comment made me want to throw something at my tv.

Ugh I felt the same way when Dean said Castiel was "like a brother to him".

I was sitting there with the blankest expression on my face, thinking "When the fuck have you ever treated Cas like a brother?! He's your manservant at best. A manservant who's opinions and worries you don't give a shit about!"

I'm still not over the whole "Us Winchesters will do anything to avert the apocalypse, even if it involves making immoral decisions. BUT NOBODY ELSE CAN DO THE SAME THING! IF THEY DO, THEN THEY ARE EVIL AND MUST BE DESTROYED!!!"
