Wait, they made Peter Guillam gay? But what about his affair with Camilla?!

I KNOW, RIGHT? That was my first thought. And I don't think he was ever gay in the books. It seems so pointless to make his character gay in the movie when the book already has a perfectly wonderful tragic gay love story.

Exactly! There's no need to make his character gay. It would be one thing if it added to the story and his character, but it's doesn't. Hell, it takes away from it. Ugh. So pointless.

i had to go check imdb to see who he was playing, becous ive just finished the book, and was like "his playing jim? or haydon?"

He read as bi to me in the books. No textual evidence, he just did.

Anyway, who cares? This movie is going to be amazing.

No doubt that the movie is going to be awesome, I'm just shocked that they changed that about his character. I can't see how making him gay adds to his character. *shrugs* It seems like a pointless thing to do.
