Agreed.

But, and I fully admit that my eyes may have been playing tricks on me, I thought I saw some Slytherins stay behind to fight. I kept thinking I saw a student with a Slytherin crest on their uniform standing behind Harry in some of the scenes after the Slytherins were led off, but they were out of focus and may have been partially in shadow, and I may have totally been seeing things as well.

I wish everyone here would see this comment. I guess we can assume some stayed behind and told McGonagall they wanted to fight, right? :D I hope so... I am so sick of everyone and their mother freaking out about this scene. I actually liked it given the fact that
1)I know there are good Slytherins but this is in an era where a majority are against the 'good cause' or just want to save themselves (not an awful but a common characteristic in Slytherins) and are against Harry either way... Do we really expect McGonagall to just ignore them?
2)Okay, so maybe she could have sent them elsewhere than the dungeons but
she did not send them to be tortured and that is where their common room is.
I imagine Filch took them to their common room, because while he is not opposed to torture, I think all of us know McGonagall is better than that and knows better than that and wouldn't even feel right doing THAT! At least, not the TORTURE I think some people think must have happened or something.
3) In a horrid situation like that, you have to do what you have to do and there isn't exactly time to think everything through and find other options. I know in the books it went down differently, but is the situation that went down in the movie really that implausable? I think Voldemort, in the movie, gave them less time, right?

Anyways, I like even more that a bunch stayed. They must have spoken out, and as their teacher I imagine McGonnagall knew them and was just trying to handle the situation, and it slipped her mind when, again, majority of the Slytherins were not rallying to help Harry. I'm truly glad to see that there were some.
