What gets to me is that wizards seem to live so much longer than muggles, so if you got married that early, you'd kind of be stuck with whoever for ages, barring divorce, etc.

I think it's just a side effect of the fact that most people meet their future spouses in Hogwarts rather than through work or other socialization as adults. Remus and Tonks are the only exception that come to mind right now.

But, if they're in a marriage where they don't want to divorce, isn't being "stuck" with the person for ages a *good* thing? I know that rest-of-your-life monogamy isn't for everyone, but a lot of people dream of and are very happy spending the rest of their lives with that one person.

True. But fact is most people are not the same person they were at 18 when they're 40.
