I think maybe the secret was sarcastic?

Because the pic was from the original series, and Ed never gets taller in that one. Also it was over-dramatic ("god forbid shorter than 5 foot 8").

But... Ed. I mean. Really. He's intensely badass. NOT comic relief. Anyone who insinuates otherwise is ridiculous.

I insinuate that he's both. But due to the slapstick reactions we tend to see from him, I find it easier to consider him a goofy character (who, admittedly, drives the plot) as opposed to those who I view as more clasically heroic types like Mustang.

And... sorry, I've gotta be this person...

Fixed it for ya'. The original series was the manga. The original anime was where the pic came from. ... Just sayin'...
